It is with pleasure that we present to you Stratbase ADR Institute’s Second Quarter SPARK entitled, “Building a More Prosperous, Inclusive and Resilient Society: Governance through Collaboration and Alliances in the First Year of the Marcos Presidency”, authored by Prof. Victor Andres “Dindo” C. Manhit, President of ADRi.
This study broadens our understanding of the current government’s plans and initiatives on four key geo-economic and geo-political sectors in the pursuit of inclusive and resilient development.
Interestingly, the analysis of governance dynamism in the first year of the Marcos Jr. administration is presented along the following arguments: (1) that political opportunities offered by multidimensional and geopolitical development concerns necessitate a collaborative approach to governance; (2) that semblances or tinges of inclusive governance or the collaborative or multi-stakeholder manner of doing things reflect the evolving practices of the current administration; and (3) that inclusive governance or the multi-stakeholder way of handling the emerging political opportunities is critical in translating or converting risks and challenges into development opportunities.
As governance is the critical development link, what is evolving in the first year of the Marcos Jr. administration is inclusive governance. In turn, what also reverberates among the challenges and opportunities posed by the four sectors involved in strategic collaboration between and among stakeholders.
