On June 30, 2025, Stratbase Group welcomed Mr. Fikry Rahman, Head of Foreign Affairs, and Senior Analyst Karisma Putera from the Malaysia-based research institute Bait Al-Amanah. They met with Stratbase Institute Deputy Executive Director Dr. Jaime Jimenez, Non-Resident Fellow Dr. Mary Kristerie Baleva, Research Director Venice Rañosa, Chief of Staff Dana Dinsay, and Program and Research Manager for Defense and Security Linar Orbista in the Stratbase office. The discussion covered the Philippines’ foreign and defense policy, recent developments in the West Philippine Sea, and the strong public support for the country’s firm assertion of its sovereign rights. 

This visit is part of their fieldwork in line with Malaysia’s 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship, focusing on ASEAN cooperation and developments in the region. Their research aims to better understand regional perspectives on existing gaps and opportunities for deeper collaboration.
