A Lecture on “Democracies in the Age of Transformational Technologies” to the Class 76 of the Command General Staff College

On August 28, 2025, Stratbase Institute Founder and CEO Prof. Dindo Manhit delivered a lecture to Class 76 of the Command and General Staff College under the AFP Education, Training, and Doctrine Command at the AFP Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo. This advanced professional military education program is designed for mid-level officers—typically holding the ranks of Major to Lieutenant Colonel—who are being prepared for higher operational and strategic command and staff duties across the tri-services, technical services, and even among international military officers.

Prof. Manhit discussed “Democracies in the Age of Transformational Technologies.” He underscored the rise of persuasive technologies that increasingly shape decisions, influence ideas, and fuel sophisticated cyberattacks. He further emphasized that misinformation, disinformation, cyber warfare, and the rapid advancement of AI technologies continue to pose critical risks—both in the immediate future and the long term—requiring sustained vigilance and comprehensive strategies to safeguard national security and democratic institutions.

Stratbase remains committed to advancing the country’s secure information infrastructure, recognizing that cybersecurity is national security and must be an indispensable pillar of the national defense strategy.
