Stratbase Institute Meeting with the Taiwan Coast Guard Delegation

On September 2, 3035, the Stratbase Institute welcomed a delegation from the Taiwan Coast Guard, accompanied by representatives from the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office (TECO). Stratbase President and CEO, Prof. Dindo Manhit, received the delegation, which was led by Deputy Director General Jing-Jhih Sy. The delegation also included Director Po-Sheng Hung, Section Chief Hsien-Chang Yang, TECO Deputy Director and Coast Guard Attaché Andrew C.H. Yen, Officer Chia-Yu Chu, Senior Consultant Officer Hsin-Fen Wu, Officer Ching-An Lin, Section Chief Tsung-Yu Chen, and Officer Tzeng-Je Lai. Prof. Manhit was joined by Stratbase Group Chief of Staff Ms. Dana Dinsay, Stratbase Group Research Manager Ms. Queenie Chan, and Stratbase Group Senior Research Associate Ms. Ana Declaro. 

The meeting highlighted the growing threat of cognitive warfare in both the Philippines and Taiwan, particularly the widespread dissemination of disinformation and misinformation across social media platforms. The delegation also discussed concerns on the escalating gray zone operations in maritime domains and emphasized the need for stronger cooperation.  

Stratbase reaffirmed its commitment to fostering strategic collaboration to address shared maritime challenges in pursuing a peaceful, stable, and a rules-based order in the Indo-Pacific region.
