Manila Strategy Forum by the Center for Strategic and International Studies

Stratbase Institute President and CEO Prof. Dindo Manhit, together with Stratbase Group COO Mr. RP Manhit and members of the Stratbase Board, attended the two-day inaugural Manila Strategy Forum organized by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) at the Grand Ballroom, Solaire. The Institute has been working with the CSIS Southeast Asian Program since 2010, and thus, Stratbase invited key networks from the diplomatic community, government, military and academe to join this forum. This conference was also sponsored by International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), one of Stratbase’s supporters since its founding days.

His Excellency President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. gave the keynote remarks in the morning. He underscored the enduring strength of the Philippines–United States alliance, highlighting its vital role in upholding regional peace, advancing economic and security cooperation, and its necessary and natural progression towards trilateral, minilateral, and multilateral engagements to address common challenges.

The Forum discussed pressing issues such as global trade tensions, the shifting geopolitical landscape, and the U.S.-Philippines partnerships on defense, infrastructure, and emerging technologies. Serving as the centerpiece of CSIS’s new U.S.-Philippines Initiative, the event highlights the strengthened partnership between the two countries, covering key sector areas.
