On September 11, 2025, Stratbase Institute President and CEO Prof. Dindo Manhit had an insightful discussion over lunch with H.E. Lee Sang-hwa, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Philippines. 

They spoke about recent political developments in the Philippines, as well as preparations for the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting, which will be hosted in Gyeongju, South Korea. 

It was encouraging to hear about South Korea’s active role in hosting this significant event, which will bring together leaders from the 21 APEC member economies. The meeting will provide a vital platform to discuss how the region can pursue shared prosperity by revitalizing free trade, investment, and economic cooperation amid today’s global uncertainties.
