The Stratbase Institute, led Stratbase Group COO Mr. RP Manhit, met with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Korea. He was joined by the Institute’s Non-Resident Fellows RADM Rommel Ong (Ret.) and Prof. Renato de Castro as well as Research Director Ms. Venice Rañosa and Chief of Staff Ms. Dana Dinsay. 

The South Korean delegation was led by Mr. Ha Daegoog (Director of ASEAN Cooperation Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and he was joined by Ms. Ryu Hyojung (Second Secretary of ASEAN Cooperation Division) and Ms. Jin Shin (Second Secretary of ASEAN Cooperation Division).   

Together, they discussed the current events in the West Philippine Sea, the ASEAN Chairship of the Philippines, and its implications in the broader region. They also talked about strengthening the economic partnership between South Korea and the Philippines and key areas of investment that strengthen economic security and provide supply chain resilience.
