Stratbase Institute President and CEO Prof. Dindo Manhit was invited by the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) to give a special talk on recent geopolitical events and their implications in the IT-BPO industry. This was during their Annual Membership Meeting at Shangri-La the Fort.
In his talk entitled “POLITIKA Beyond 2028: Geostrategic Thinking and Regional Dynamics”, he spoke of the Philippines as a rising middle power amid global risks. Despite the growing geo-economic confrontation the world is facing, the Philippines is still positioned to be an upper middle-income economy given its geostrategic location, abundance in critical minerals, and young, skilled workforce with a domestic market of 100 million people.
Philippine Economic Zone Authority Director General Theo Panga also gave a special talk on the overview of the economic opportunities available for the IT-BPO industry. IBPAP President Jack Madrid highlighted the strength of the IT-BPO sector as well as opportunities for more investments in the sector.
