Stratbase ADR Institute hosted a presentation of Dr. Carlo A. Arcilla’s Special Study entitled: “Mining in the Philippines: Problems and Suggested Solutions” held yesterday at the Tower Club, Makati City.

Dr. Carlo Arcilla’s started his presentation with an introduction of how mining is undertaken in the Philippine context, mainly the regulatory framework. Then, he proceeded to debunk some of the major misconceptions the public has on mining. Finally, he put forward some policy recommendations to help the mining industry pursue responsible mining and so reverse the negative publicity it is getting.
