ADRi Occasional Paper: “Embattled Philippine State and Society and Democratic Elusion”

It is with pleasure that we share with you our Occasional Paper for August entitled, “Embattled Philippine State and Society and Democratic Elusion” written by Stratbase ADR Institute’s non-resident fellow, Jaime Jimenez, Ph. D.

The paper talks about how the Philippine state and society have been eluded by democratic goals and aspirations due to five democratic barriers namely, nationhood, poverty and powerlessness, political dynasties, political leadership and institutions.

We hope you will find the paper interesting and helpful in gaining insights in our Philippine governance.
