With the economy re-opening—and with the passage of economic “game-changing” laws such as the Public Services Act and Foreign Investments Act— the private sector is again seen as a vital driver of investments that can create much-needed jobs and generate economic growth. However, the private sector cannot rebuild the economy alone; re-building our economy requires multi-sectoral collaboration among different public and private sector organizations.
The Stratbase ADR Institute, in partnership with the Philippine Business for Environmental Stewardship (PBEST), organized its Virtual Roundtable Discussion (vRTD) entitled “Promoting an Investment-Led and Sustainable Economy”. This virtual event was held on 23 June 2022 (Thursday) from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, and is part of Stratbase ADRI’s ongoing series of quarterly business roundtable discussions.
This event sought to be an avenue for top private sector leaders to discuss challenges and opportunities faced by the private sector to help the economy become more sustainable and resilient. Our panel of industry leaders discussed policy recommendations for the Philippines’ newly elected government and the private sector’s best practices for advancing environmental, social, and governance standards.
