ADRi Special Study: “The 21st Century Silk Road: Perils and Opportunities of China’s Belt and Road Initiative”

Stratbase ADR Institute hosted a roundtable discussion entitled “The 21st Century Silk Road: Perils and Opportunities of China’s Belt and Road Initiative” on June 20, 2018 in Makati City.

The roundtable discussion started with the presentation of Richard Heydarian’s Special Study with the same title.

The Special Study provides analyses on how China’s Belt and Road Initiative will promote and support internal economic rebalancing and China’s expansion of strategic presence across resource-rich and geographically important nations. Heydarian’s study also examines the possible challenges of BRI-related investments in the Philippines.

Richard Heydarian is an academic, columnist and author focusing on the Asia-Pacific and MENA regions. He is currently a resident political analyst at GMA Network and a non-resident fellow at ADRi.
