Stratbase Institute Visit to Department of National Defense Undersecretary Fabian Pedregosa

The Stratbase Institute visited the Office of the Department of National Defense Undersecretary for Information Security and Cybersecurity (OUISC), Fabian Pedregosa. Representing Stratbase Institute President Prof. Victor Andres “Dindo” Manhit was Deputy Managing Director Mr. Orlando Oxales, joined by Public Affairs and Program Manager for Technology Enterprise and Cybersecurity Ms. Wels Dayawon and Senior Program and Research Associate for Technology Enterprise and Cybersecurity Ms. Car Ultra. The Stratbase Institute presented its position paper titled “Cyber Vulnerability as Strategic Vulnerability: A National Security Imperative for the Philippines.”

As part of the Institute’s decades-long commitment to fostering strategic discussions on national security, the paper underscores that cybersecurity is no longer merely a technical concern but a critical component of national security. It emphasizes that cyber vulnerabilities have become strategic risks, requiring a whole-of-society approach to strengthen national resilience and safeguard sovereignty in an increasingly complex cyber landscape.

Stratbase looks forward to continued collaboration with the Department of National Defense in support of its initiatives and programs, especially with its cybersecurity priorities.
