Stratbase Institute President and CEO Prof. Dindo Manhit participated as a panelist in the National West Philippine Sea Summit at Conrad Manila during the discussion, “Reconciling National Security and Foreign Policy.” 
 
The panel explored how diplomacy, defense, national security, and public communication can work together more effectively to protect the Philippines’ sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea, uphold international law, and strengthen domestic and international support for the country’s position. 
 
During his presentation, Prof. Manhit emphasized that the Philippines must adopt a strategic and integrated approach to national security by strengthening defense capabilities, deepening partnerships with like-minded countries, and upholding a rules-based international order. 
 
Earlier in the day, Department of National Defense Secretary Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. also delivered a keynote address on the country’s defense priorities and security outlook.
