Stratbase Institute President and Chief Executive Officer Prof. Dindo Manhit and Chief Operating Officer Mr. RP Manhit joined the 2nd ASEAN Business Media Exchange 2026, hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry through the ASEAN Committee on Business and Investment Promotion. Stratbase Group serves as the Department of Trade and Industry’s partner think tank throughout the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship. 

The event brought together Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque of the Department of Trade and Industry, Secretary Rex Gatchalian of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and Undersecretary Leo Herrera-Lim of the Department of Foreign Affairs who shared their perspectives on the Philippines’ priorities and progress as ASEAN Chair across the political-security, economic, and socio-cultural pillars. 

A fireside chat with Secretary Roque further highlighted the Philippines’ investment opportunities and growth sectors, while emphasizing the country’s efforts to strengthen regional competitiveness. 

The second panel featured business leaders, who discussed how stronger digital foundations, greater support for small and medium enterprises, and deeper regional integration can help businesses seize opportunities across ASEAN. 

The discussions highlighted ASEAN Centrality, deeper trade and investment integration, digital economic cooperation, peace and stability, disaster resilience, and people-centered development—underscoring the Philippines’ efforts to translate its Chairship into concrete outcomes for the region and its people.
