Stratbase Institute President and Chief Executive Officer Prof. Dindo Manhit welcomed Mr. Geoffrey Tasker, Senior Policy Adviser at Transport Canada, and Mr. Patrick O’Neill, First Secretary of the Embassy of Canada in the Philippines, for a discussion on maritime infrastructure and cybersecurity in the Philippines at the Stratbase office. 

Transport Canada is the federal department responsible for developing and enforcing policies, regulations, and programs that support safe, secure, and efficient transportation across Canada. 

Prof. Manhit was joined by Rear Admiral Rommel Ong, Non-Resident Fellow of the Stratbase Institute and Professor of Praxis at the Ateneo School of Government. 

The discussion explored the Philippines’ critical maritime infrastructure and evolving cybersecurity landscape, as well as opportunities for Canada to support the country’s efforts to strengthen the security and resilience of these vital systems.
